A few recent ramblings...

I've been thinking of a lot of things lately that seemed noteworthy at the time... but apparently not noteworthy enough to actually TAKE the time to jot them down...

We went to see "The Blind Side", which was great. Good movie. The remarkable part is that we also took Brynn--the 6 month old--along. It's rare that we get out these days, so we thought we'd take a gamble... She was sleepy when we went in, so I thought there may be hope... The child (I'm not even kidding here) fell asleep as soon as the previews were over and slept until 10 minutes or so before the movie ended, happily watching the movie along with the grown-ups. We are VERY lucky.

Baby teeth are INCREDIBLY sharp when they just come in. I suppose that stands to reason, since they have to make it through gums and all... I was just not expecting them to hurt as much as they did when I was bitten recently!

I ate my first octopus last night. I thought that calamari was just fried squid rings, and that there was no resemblance to any animal--which is how I prefer my meat to be. T and I went to Romano's Macaroni Grill and opted to be "adventurous" and order the sampler which came with calamari... I was not expecting to see teensy octopi with LEGS... Needless to say, I obviously didn't feel so put off that I wouldn't try at least one... It tasted like I expected; salty and fried. We won't be ordering that particular sampler again.

While driving home from shopping, we saw a small white car about the size of a Toyota Corrola... It had a blue wizard painted on the side... We're talking serious stuff... From the hood to the trunk, this car was wizard-ed out. Very bizarre. I tried taking a picture on my phone while stopped at the light, but it didn't turn out too well.

While shopping at Kohl's the other day, I stopped to take a peek at the holiday costume jewelry they had on sale, and stumbled on the hot holiday tooth pictured above... I wonder what the market really is for teeth dressed in santa hats...

That's all for now. I have loads of cleaning to do... loads of laundry to do...

My Christmas wish is for a magical cleaning and laundry-doing fairy to decide to come live with us for a year...
